Wellness Exploration

Wellness means different things to different people. What do you want for your optimal wellness? Make a list. It’s okay to dream big and ask for what you want. Keep in mind that healing is always possible. Our goal in working together is to increase the probability of it as much as we can.

How do you want your physical body to function? Do you want out of chronic pain? To get out of the grip of an addiction? To sleep better? To have more vitality? What kind of relationship do you want with yourself? With others? How are your moods and emotions? How is the environment affecting you? How are past experiences still impacting you? What is important and meaningful to you? What do you really want to do with your waking hours? How is your relationship with Ultimate Reality, whatever that means to you? Who are you, really? Every aspect of your life exerts some sort of influence upon your health. When creating your ultimate wellness, any and every aspect of your life is fair game for exploration.

Once you get a vision for what you want as your optimal wellness, I like to think about it as being held up by a number of pillars. Then we want to make sure that each pillar is optimized and doing it’s job.

Those pillars are, in no particular order:

  • Diet

  • Exercise

  • Sleep

  • Recreation/play/hobbies

  • Stress transformation

  • Relationships-with self; with others: your social support system; with pets

  • Career, if any

  • Family

  • Personal/spiritual growth

  • Any others that are important to you

I would like to explore these issues with you and help you construct a plan to move you in the direction you really want to go in your life.
